This script will dump all available critical updates for all of the endpoints in an organization into a .csv file along with the number of days the update has been available and if the update requires a reboot. You’ll need to set the following before running the script: $apiKey = 'YOUR_API_KEY' - in your console, go to Settings->API and select the API key. Note that the API key is per admin user, so you and another admin in your console will have different API keys. $orgID = 'YOUR_ORG_ID' - put in your Org ID which can be found by looking at the URL on the dashboard and selecting the value after the “?o=”: [https://console.automox.com/dashboard?o=1234]. In this example the Org ID is 1234. You can also modify $filepath if you want to change the file name or save it in a different location. Keep in mind the script will overwrite a previously generated file if it exists. $apiKey = 'YOUR_API_KEY' $orgID = 'YOUR_ORG_ID' $filepath = 'C:\Temp\CritUpdates.csv' Set-Content $filepath -Value

Hi, all. I’m new here, so forgive me if I’m reposting something already covered. We have 2 machines that have recently received what I believe were 3rd party updates from Automox that have slowed the machines to a crawl. We send out daily updates so I’m unclear as to the exact day, much less exact update, that might be causing this. Has anyone else seen this with a recent (in the last week) update, and if so did you determine what was causing it?Also, any tips for quickly alleviating the symptoms without rolling back to a restore point (if there even is one) would be much appreciated. At this point I’m hoping more updates coming through will fix whatever got buggered up. Note that this is only 2 machines (that I know of) out of about 200.Thanks in advance!

We are having issues with users that have applications removed like, firefox or chrome, and continuously showing “Your Computer is preparing to install updates” due to a policy to update both Chrome and Firefox, and it fails for those users and never shows that their computer is Up To Date (this is happening for other applications as well but Firefox/Chrome seems to be the most prevalent offenders) which is causing confusion with the end users and countless unnecessary calls to our helpdesk.
With the new (and awesome btw) Status page roll out, is there a way to api pull from that page? Just looking for base info... up,degraded, down and the like! I looked a bit to see if I could find that but coming up empty lol!

Hi AM Community,I do have an open ticket with support, but figured I’d ask here. We were onboarded mid-January and since then we have had devices stop connecting with the console and then they are never reconnected again until we restart the client. The agent service is still running, but the only repeated error in the logs is: dial tcp: lookup api.automox.com: no such hostWe have a mix of remote and office employees and VPN is only used to access our file server (or internal servers from the IT team). It appears to be happening to both user types and we can’t figure out the cause. We have no content filtering or DNS security software (unless you are in the office). The only consistent error we see is: dial tcp: lookup api.automox.com: no such hostHas anyone experienced this?

If you don’t know already, Office Hours with Brandon Gray are now every Friday at 2pm EDT. If you don’t know about Office Hours, you’re really missing a great place to ask questions, make suggestions, or just listen to others in the Automox Community probably experiencing the same things you are. As a regular participant (and 3 year customer of Automox), it has been a place where I have asked numerous questions, made requests, and received invaluable advice and suggestions on having a smooth hassle-free (well almost, it is Microsoft) updating experience.
Every week, we’ll be sharing a short video that highlights a specific feature or use case in the Automox console. In this video, we discuss mean time to remediation (MTTR) and how you can improve your performance in this area. Our target MTTR is 7 days, and I highlight the importance of reviewing our active policies to identify those that exceed this target. Be sure to keep an eye out for the next Tip of the Week!
