Pushing out specific Windows KB's

Hi, I am working on a set of policies when zero day patches happen. Something I could not figure out is how to target multiple specific patches in one policy. I did create multiple advanced polices targeting the patches and ran those. Is there something that I missing or is there a better way to do this.

Patching MS Office applications, politely!

Hi all, I know this has been discussed in a couple of old threads, but has anyone got any new suggestion for a way to avoid Office applications being quit with no warning when they’re patched? I’ve had a couple of colleagues complain about it recently.Thanks

Force BitLocker Recovery on start up

As part of adding security and protect the data on a laptop for a remote exit employee, we would like to force the device to boot with the bitlocker recovery key. The below powershell script works when run locally on the laptop through PowerShell IDE and run as Admin: $hostname = hostnamemanage-bde -forcerecovery C: -computername $hostname The issue is when we try to push the same code with Automox, it bypasses the recovery key and TPM pin and boots to the login screen instead of asking for the bitlocker recovery keyBelow is the code on Automox: Evaluation Code:Exit 1************************Remediation Code:$hostname = hostnamemanage-bde -forcerecovery C: -computername $hostnameExit 0************************I think that it’s an issue with elevating user privillages since the local code is run on PowerShell as Admin and Automox is running the code with the current users rights which are Normal User, but again, I could be wrong. Your help is appreciated.

Tag based on Device Info?

i’m just getting my feet wet with Automox, and i see a lot of recent enhancements have been made with regard to Tagging, but i’m wondering if there’s a way to auto-assign tags in bulk based on device info?  My use case would be to automatically tag devices based on their AD OU.  If i’ve got a device in the “San Francisco Office” OU in AD, that shows in the Device Info in Automox, so is there some script or worklet i could use to automatically tag all devices reflecting that device info?  thanks!

PowerBI - Show list of pending software updates

Hello,Can someone point me in the direction of an article or guide showing all the various PowerBI queries that can be performed, please?I’ve connected my report to the organisation, which brings back effectively one query with linked tables attached, i.e. detail, policy, etc. but what I’m really looking for is a list of pending software updates, and then those that would require a reboot.Would someone be able to advise or point me in the right direction, please?Many thanks,Dayna

API authentication

Exclude software from reports

Hi everyone,i wanted to ask if theres a posibility to exclude software from reports or general statistics i know there’s an option to exclude devices but i didnt find anything about software i guess is that this option doesn’t exist in automox ? ThanksRegards.

Proper way to install using EXE

I am trying to install the Barracuda Content Shield for our endpoints but its an EXE and not an MSI, plus it needs a key file. The instruction on their site say to use this on the command line: BarracudaContentShieldSetup-2.3.4.1.exeISFeatureInstall="WebFiltering,MalwarePrevention"KEYPATH="bcs.key" /silent Can i upload both the exe and .key file in a policy? Also, for the command line in the policy it says to use powershell syntax and I am not sure how to convert the above to powershell. Thank you.

Does the device need to be on the local network to patch?

Hello Everyone. I remember asking this question before we purchased automox and I think the answer was no, but I wanted to confirm. I have a company laptop at home with automox installed and a desktop in the office that i log on too. Last week my dekstop in the office asked me to reboot to update, but my laptop at home did not. They are both part of the same policy. I’m not sure where to look to make sure. Thank you, newbie to the service. MIKE

I’m getting complaints from users about their systems rebooting multiple times a day on both Windows and macOS. Is there a way to see if users are getting the the automox notifications?

Required Software Scheduling...

Hello,When scheduling a Required Software policy, would you set it to run literally every month, every week and every day?  Or is scheduling it once enough?  I ask this because my thinking tells me it’ll run once and then never again - if the software were to be installed by Automox, then removed by a user, the policy wouldn’t pick it up again.  Or at least not until that singular schedule day arrived again in a years time.Or is is best to schedule a Required Software policy to run once every week if this is the case?Cheers,Mark.

Automox Reboot Pop Up (Prompt) not responding

Hello, I have multiple users experiencing issues with workstation patching. Whenever a user clicks “Reboot Now” when prompted; nothing happens. We can click the “Reboot Now” button multiple times and no response. After waiting for 15-20 minutes; they manually reboot the machine only for Automox to reboot their computer later in the day causing them to lose work. Any ideas on what can be done to prevent this from happening? And has anyone else experienced this issue?

How to enable failed patch alerts

Wondering if I can configure automox to send an alert to a specific email address if a patch fails on a server. I was unable to find anything in the knowledge base. For example. If policy A encounters an error on Server B, Automox sends an alert to email@example.com.

Hey Automox people, I got an email on 11/12 talking about RBAC rollout, with zones and finer grain controls over user access. Any idea when this functionality is actually being deployed? This was one of our bigger asks from AX and we’re excited to use it!

Linux Agent firewall requirements...

Hello,So the requirements on what to allow outbound through our firewall for Windows agents (for WindowsUpdate) are very clear.  But what do we need to allow for Linux agents?  Or does all of that come via Automox’s cloud CDN?Cheers,Mark.

Worklet to pull device patching logs stopped working with error

Hello!I have a worklet that has been running weekly for months with no issue, the worklet essentially grabs patching logs from each device in Automox and exports them all to a CSV. Does Automox Use x86 powershell?

I’m attempting to script a LAPS installation which requires the creation of a local account. When I test the powershell script on my local machine everything works great.
