Filter on critical severity - Not working

For the past 2 months, our console fails to be able to report on severs that have high or critical severity. We are seeing an issue again when we try to filter devices by Severity for Critical or High patches, where it fails to load any devices. We have a major patch window coming up on Saturday, and not having this available will mean that we need to manually verify patching on the majority of our servers, which is not acceptable. Is anyone else seeing this or is this local to our Automox console?

Worklet to Remove User Profiles

My Helpdesk team is encountering an issue in our Warehouse where multiple users will sign into a PC and fill up the disk space seemlingly overnight.I need a worklet that will evaluate the disk space on a shared PC and then delete user profiles that haven’t been modified or used in over 30 days if that disk exceeds 50%. I would also like it to also run disk cleanup every night.

cURL - Patching and Worklets

Hey all, Brand new to the Automox Community here, really loving the software so far. However, I’m running into a weird issue. So, we’ve gotta update cURL, and I’m running into a pair of issues.To start, within Automox, I cannot see it as a listed package. I know it’s installed, and can see it in my Tenable dashboard. This leaves the bulk actions/software patching option out. So, in lieu of this, I’ve tried to make a worklet to meet the requirements. I’ve found some powershell online that seems to fit what I’d need it to do, but when I run it on my test machine, I get the attached logs, and the issue persists. Same patch being installed daily

We are using a patch all except policy for all of our desktops this runs daily at 10:30am. It has been working great the first month we were using Automox but now it seems to be installing the same update daily with no errors. It wouldn’t be such a problem however it causes a reboot prompt everyday now at 10:30. I’ve looked through the reports and I am not seeing any errors. Even for those who have rebooted it still prompts a reboot daily. Any thoughts or ideas?

I am new to Automox and most likely am missing something easy or at least, I hope. 32bit vs 64bit Plans?

Hi,I often find myself running into problems when writing worklets which don’t work as intended. Most of the time the root cause is because I’d failed to remember that the Automox Agent is a 32bit binary and calls 32bit PowerShell.Prefixing my Remediation Code with the following code blocks resolves the issue most of the time, but sometimes it does not, for example if I want to do something to a machine in both the 32 and 64bit registries in the same worklet.##############################################################################If Powershell is running the 32-bit version on a 64-bit machine, we #need to force powershell to run in 64-bit mode .#############################################################################if ($env:PROCESSOR_ARCHITEW6432 -eq "AMD64") { write-warning "It seems we're running 32bit Powershell within a 64bit OS. I’m curious if anyone else has run into this and has a solution. Automox Communication Exclusion in Crowdstrike Network Containment Policy

Hello,I am seeking assistance to exclude Automox from Crowdstrike Network Containment Policies, allowing the Automox agent to communicate with the cloud even when containment/isolation measures are in lift.Crowdstrike Falcon presently accepts only IP ranges for Network Containment Policy input due to security concerns related to domain names, as detailed here: Crowdstrike Discussion.Automox provides a list of URLs used for agent-cloud communication, outlined in this guide: Automox Agent Firewall Allowlisting Rules. I am exploring methods to obtain Automox Cloud's IP range for exclusion. Would it enough to use the IP result from "nslookup api.automox.com"? Please give some advice, many thanks!Best regards.

Agent instalaltion automation

Hi, I am trying to install automox agent automatically using Puppet. Issue is I have no way to check if agent is registered properly on automox, so every time puppet agent is starting deregistration and registration again. I tried to use agent to show me a group that node belongs, but there is no way to do it. I looked at API doc but I do not see a way to pull to which group node belongs. Is there any way to check from node itself if agent is already registered or not?

Worklet to Remove .Net Core Server (not SDK)

Has anyone found a good script to uninstall old versions of .NET Core? We’re running through vulnerabilities and we have a lot of servers running older unsupported versions of .NET Core Server Hosting. I’ve been able to upgrade .NET 6.0 without issue but it seems 3.1 versions just won’t update or go away. We have roughly 40+ servers running multiple versions of .NET Core. None are the SDK version so the .NET uninstall tool doesn’t work on them. I’ve tried a script to download the ASP.NET Core Hosting exe and running the uninstall commands from there and, nothing. I’ve tried installing a newer version of 3.1 over the existing version (like I did with 6.0) and didn’t take. How are all of you managing .NET Core versions and eliminating unsupported versions from your environment?I’m at a loss at this point. There are not SDKs and there is no Visual Studio. So there seems to be no easy way to remove these old .NET versions especially when the uninstaller process via Automox can’t provide an

Delete file in privileged folder like system32

I’m trying to remediate https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/en-US/vulnerability/CVE-2023-38175We use a 3rd party antivirus and not Microsoft Defender. Microsoft recommends deleting the file MpSigStub.exe. It’s located in C:\Windows\System32. I tried to create the following but i think it’s not working because system32 needs elevated privileges. Win 11 iso

Hey all,I’m having 0 success updating to windows 11 using the windows installation assistant from automox and from running it directly on the laptops I’m testing with.I have had success downloading the iso, mounting it, and running the upgrade from there.Has anyone else tested the Windows 11 worklet? I’ve thought about trying to create a worklet that downloads and mounts the iso and runs through the setup so I can put automation and control/schedule around the updates.

Black screen on the servers

I’m not sure if this is Automox related but our company keeps having a black screen issue. It looks like the update is downloaded and the server is looking a reboot but if we don’t reboot the server I’ll will just sit on a black screen and we can’t login to it- this is causing issues because some applications won’t run. In this situation we need to use nutanix to reset the servers and it does install the updates then.Have you heard about this issue before? What is the fix for it if a policy which is supposed to reboot servers over weekend doesn’t work?

OOB Web Browser Update Policy Installing CUs?

When we first implemented Automox we created the suggested “Keep browsers up-to-date” policy available on the console’s front page. I recently saw this installed KB5030216 overnight on a few VMs with the policy applied. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is this because “Everything Microsoft Edge” is included in the policy?

Devices that require a reboot

I have my patching policies set to automatically reboot and deferrals are configured so that the user gets two chances to put a restart off. But I’m still seeing machines that require reboots. How can I find out why the automatic reboots aren’t working and how can I fix this?TIAGreg

Automatic Reboot

I started my computer up this morning and was prompted with an Automox popup saying that my computer was going to restart in 5 min. I was not given an option to defer. Normally we give two deferal options and allow the person to defer three times max. So Im wondering is, even though my computer was turned off, Automox took the automatic deferal options and now that my computer is on, is forcing me to reboot? Hopefully that makes sense. If that is the correct, how do you handle that? We dont want people turning on their computers, and getting prompted to have to reboot 5 min into their work day. Thank you, Greg
