How to specify a username variable in the path for a file copy worklet

For example, the file I am copying is a Word letterhead template that needs to go to: C:\Users\tjm\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates but I need to replace “tjm” with the logged in users’ username

With the recent events in CrowdStrike world, we have all Dell enpoints and found that they could not get into the winRE without the SupportAssist OS Recovery to fix issue. Is there a way to deploy this tool via Automox?

Automox FreshService integration

Hello,I am currently trying to integrate Automox with FreshService but when i search for a device that is compliant within Automox and also is a Asset within FreshService the Automox app within FreshService keeps saying: “The Device does not exist in Automox”. I configured the API and set the schedule to run daily at 12:00 AM but it has been a couple of days now and still no information is displayed.Has anyone here have any experience in setting up this integration?

Delete file in privileged folder like system32

Working in a script able to delete files in privileged folder like system 32. But getting “File '\Windows\System32\Tryme\new 2.txt' does not exist.” on the script bellow. According to the reponce on  this: Automox runs as SYSTEM so this issue is unlikely related to elevated privileges.Any suggestions? Need help to modify "Copy File from Payload" worklet to overwrite file if it exists

I need to push an updated Word letterhead template to all users because an attorney joined the firm, but the template already exists on all machines, The existing worklet Copy File from Payload checks to see if the file already exists and skips it if it does. I don’t code, can anyone help with a worklet that would copy the file to the directory I specify and overwrite it if it already exists?Thanks!

slack worklet keeps hanging on install

I was originally using the slack installer worklet mentioned here:https://community.automox.com/topic/show?tid=1566&fid=12 But have been running into issues where when the worklet runs, it downloads the installer fine, but when it runs msiexec.exe, it just hangs indefinitely. If I run this from a powershell command line, it runs fine and installs slack, but hangs in automox. Windows - Scheduled Reboot to apply updates

Hello folks, I am looking for a worklet that will reboot servers if a reboot is required. Worklet that interacts with GPO on a Domain Controller?

Hello,We’re encountering a problem where we are running a worklet to import a Group Policy object on a domain controller - the Automox worklet runs as System so has no domain permissions to be able to interact with Group Policy.  Has anyone found a way to run a set of PowerShell commands within a worklet as a domain user with elevated privileges, eg. Feature Update Question - uninstall tight VNC

We have PCs dotted around the world, although most are in the UK. All of them at some time or another can be a struggle to connect to with automox.I found with a couple recently, I had to use team viewer to connect and remove VNC - because the port was engaged by VNC, it was seen as ‘busy’ when attempting to connect. So you could never connect.After removal, Automox would then re-connect, re-install VNC and all would be well.I could write a worklet to remove VNC I guess, but was wondering how easy it would be just to use a worklet to free up the port?

Secrets

Building a worklet for password management and getting the error below. I created the secret etc. Calling the variable using $secretnamehere and the error is what we get. When I go back to check the Secret Value, click the eye it is empty...but I filled it in lol So is this by design?? Tag removal question

I don’t think this is a bug per say, but when “removing” a deployment tag from new pc’s the console deleted the tag as a whole! Is there a way to not have this happen?  Also, this isn’t a worklet question, but I can’t post in the platform forum lol!! The category drop down doesn’t list it! =(

Run policies after rebuild

We have several policies that are based on a weekly staggered layout by location and 4am deployment (and next check in).  However, when we re-image a workstation and Automox gets automatically installed, we would have to wait until the next morning or next update cycle to get software and patches.  I dont know if we can do anything like this now, but It would be nice when a new device checks in, is in the default group, or have a command switch to run, that it would automatically force run any associated policies before we deploy back to staff.

The message came from a application of executable called CopyCat (followed by a image of a white cat holding silver keys). For our piece of mind, can anyone confirm if this is a standard component of Automox, or do I need to be worried?

Windows Server 2022 patching issues

We are running into issues within our environment with inconsistencies in Automox detecting patches for Windows Server 2022.  We use WSUS and have not had issues approving the updates through WSUS and having servers recognize updates on the servers themselves, but within Automox there is no evidence of any patches available to install. We have had issues with it showing patches available when the Groups are pointed to WSUS as well as directly out to Windows Update. Curious if anyone else has had issues with Server 2022 Patches through Automox.

Has anyone else run into the -2145124318 error message during Windows Cumulative Updates?

I’ve noticed some hosts, especially most of our Windows 11 Enterprise endpoints, will run into an error when trying to apply the monthly Microsoft Cumulative update. The error is a bit unusual, and I haven’t been able to find much on it while researching. The error doesn’t seem to be tied to any Windows Update service/connectivity issues. What is also weirder, is that these Windows 11 hosts report successfully installing this update the first night they try to update, but then the days after get this error. I’ve seen this error on some Windows 10 hosts, but mainly on Windows 11. It seems to point to the update not being compatible with something on the operating system in some weird way.
