Windows 2016 Servers not updating

Good Morning,

We’ve been dealing with an odd issue for the last few months on 2 of our servers when it comes to updating. We run a “patch except” policy for our servers that can be rebooted once a month to update them and without fail both of these servers will succeed in installing the update 5 times, then fail once and not actually install the updates or reflect the updates on Automox.

Below is what I see when I filter the AX Activity Log for the day after running the policy.

For the 5 successful runs the log is as follows:

command id was found in history and was prevented from being executed

Then finally in the device details it shows the below information which is way out of date (Visual C++ is on 14.42.34438)

We then run the updates manually and they install without any issues

I checked the Agent logs and couldn’t find anything

Automox is on Version 2.0.29

We reinstalled the client a few times (with reboots in-between installs)

I looked through the amagent debug logs

compared settings to other servers who didn’t have this issue

Any ideas on anything else I could look at or do? I haven’t opened a ticket with support yet, was hoping to see if there was something I missed and can do on my own before going that route.
