Has anyone else run into the -2145124318 error message during Windows Cumulative Updates?

I’ve noticed some hosts, especially most of our Windows 11 Enterprise endpoints, will run into an error when trying to apply the monthly Microsoft Cumulative update. The error is a bit unusual, and I haven’t been able to find much on it while researching. The error doesn’t seem to be tied to any Windows Update service/connectivity issues. What is also weirder, is that these Windows 11 hosts report successfully installing this update the first night they try to update, but then the days after get this error. I’ve seen this error on some Windows 10 hosts, but mainly on Windows 11. It seems to point to the update not being compatible with something on the operating system in some weird way. Feature Update

Looking about a feature update with end user notifications for updates. We currently push the update notifications to the users. Is there a way they can be notified of what is going to update and also the progress of those updates and once they are completed?

Papercut Deployment

Has anyone had any success deploying the PaperCut Client via Automox? I have tried every angle I can think of and they all time out, or say it was successful but nothing was installed! From PC’s knowledge base it can be deployed via GPO or “ automated software deployment ”  I am just banging my head here lol

missing patches

we are missing some critical patches from the previous month and upon checking automox console I do see some systems didnt get the patch applied as expected. is there a way identify the systems with missing Kbs and then apply that to them?

Dashboard not refreshing or not synching

The dashboard was working great however over the last couple of days it is showing that I have more patches to apply than I really need. For example it shows I have 23 new patches that are critical but when I click on the 23 then go to open up devices needing any of these patches the lists are empty. It’s been this way for a couple of days now. Is there something that updates the dashboard that is separate from the device scans? With the devices showing they do not need this patch but the dashboard showing the 23 critical updates for different devices something is obviously not in synch. Thanks

Files with square brackets in filename

As per the title, I need to copy a file that has [ ] in the filename. When trying to upload, it complains that they’re illegal characters? I guess the workaround would be to upload it without the square brackets, then include a PS command to rename it once it’s been copied down? Any other workarounds (or a fix?) ThanksDanny

Scan without patching for a baseline report

Is it possible to create a policy to scan a group of devices for missing critical patches then create a report the breaks out which critical patches are missing.  We do not want to patch those devices with this policy, only scan.

Automatically disable patch after specified number of failed attempts

This doesn’t happen too frequently, thankfully, but when it does it can be very frustrating for end users.A patch that requires a reboot fails to install so Automox tries again on the next scheduled run. As I find I have to run schedules often to keep up with the number of patches, this can mean that a user has to reboot every day.What I’d like is the ability to disable a patch after a number of failed attempts so that this doesn’t happen. I’d also like to be notified about this so that we can investigate the cause.As we get too many failure notifications we’ve actually turned these off for now anyway.Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this?Thanks

Patching and Completion Notification

Hello, I would like to notify end users once their patching is completed so that they know if it is okay to shut down their device.If a device is shut down, logged out, or put in sleep mode, the patching will fail. I’ve noticed this multiple times with testing on different devices. There is no real way for an end user to know when their patches have been updated. Furthermore, on Automox I am able to see each “Device Status” as “Refreshing” when updates are being conducted, and “Ready” once they are complete.I would like confirmation that Refreshing = Patching. With that wording it is a little confusing.I have ran manual patches on certain devices that will begin “refreshing” and after completion, they will turn to the “ready” state. Although I will still see the same patches needing an update in the “Software” section of the device. Does anyone know why this is happening? It is as if the patch runs and after completion nothing actually happened with those items that needed to be patche

Activity log not showing output for below worklet.

Hi all, im trying to fetch those system update packages from endpoints. im doing this via this worklet here , for some reason its not showing output in Automox console. can anyone suggest what am i doing wrong here.. i also have same problem for other command Test-PendingReboot -detailed to when i try to verify if endpoint is waiting for a reboot or not..  i also checked out this too and ive tried both standard output stream PowerShell: Write-Output/Write-Host but none of it worked.. just getting an empty box in log summary. Worklet? Crowdstrike Uninstall to Move Asset to another Crowdstrike Console

We’ve just set up 2 extra Crowdstrike consoles to allow segregation of assets and users. However, I’m struggling to find a way to move these assets in bulk, as I need to uninstall the sensor on each asset, and then reinstall with a different Customer ID. Does anyone think this would be possible via a couple of worklets? Otherwise I’m looking at a huge manual job… Thanks!

Renamed windows PC showing old hostname in console

Actually, we completely reset the PC and wiped it clean, and built the PC from scratch. However, the automox console is showing the pc with the old hostname. How can I clear this up?

Incorrect Machine Restart States

Hi there,I’ve been experiencing an issue on certain clients where the Automox device section states “Reboot Required” even when a reboot has been administered, in some cases multiple times. I’ve tried manually restarting, restarting from the Automox client, CLI restarts, etc. The message is persistent. This seems to only apply to macOS devices. Any ideas?Best,Dane
