Looking at https://support.automox.com/help/adding-patches-to-the-block-list-in-the-automox-console - I see there are 2 methods for blocking a KB from installing. Assuming Microsoft released a botched update, I can then use the Software page to block it across all computers in my environment. But, how do I view a list of all updates / patches that I have blocked before?
It would be very helpful if there was a way to see the devices associated with patches. Also I have environments where I don’t want to install a patch, but other environments that I do. For example, I have several segments that I do not want to update the browser version or Java, but for the rest of our environment we do want both the browsers and Java to be updated. Is there a way to approve the patch/update for only specific segments of our environment? Thank you, Brad
We just added two new search filter options on the Devices page, which are Severity and Vulnerability or CVE ID. This lets you search for devices that have pending patches of a specific severity, or matching a specific CVE ID: image1121×852 121 KB We have updated documentation here that explains in more detail how those two new filters work: https://docs.automox.com/home/devices/searching-sorting-and-filtering-device-information

Hello. I noticed that the API docs give Powershell examples using Invoke-WebRequest instead of Invoke-RestMethod. I tend to prefer the latter due to its native deserialization of json and xml responses and due to the improvement of the cmdlet in powershell versions 6 and 7. A member of our team let us know that the doc examples use WebRequest because the Automox engineers have found “…Invoke-WebRequest to be more consistent in it’s returns with less errors…” Could someone expound on those errors? I’m planning to have my team build scripts with RestMethod and am wondering about some of the errors you’ve seen with it.

For any of you, like us, that use GitBook to host your documentation, here’s the post-mortem on their outage yesterday: https://blog.gitbook.com/tech/post-mortems/06-20-gitbook-domains-blocked-by-registrar TL;DR - phishing activity on one of their sites was enough for Google to nuke all their domains, they are moving to Cloudflare

Has anyone put together a working approach for doing this via Automox? I’ve got Windows 10 machines deployed with Office 365 Pro Plus in 32-bit, and I would like to move that to 64-bit. I understand the general approach is to uninstall all traces of Office 32-bit and then reinstall Office 64-bit. I also know you cannot mix Office 64-bit with Visio/Project 32bit (and Visio / Project are not in the suite of apps for Office). So I’m willing to ignore those machines and handle them manually. I’ve also done some research into this https://psappdeploytoolkit.com/ that looks like it will do the trick. However, I have concerns about having this running in the user-context so that UI prompts are interactive. Basically I’m looking to save a ton of work if someone has already built an approach for doing this.

reddit r/techsupport - I wrote Task Manager and I just remembered something... 9,028 votes and 276 comments so far on Reddit There’s some good info in there, such as this nugget: If Task Manager ever hangs or crashes, start another by pressing ctrl-shift-esc. Winlogon will look for an existing instance and try to revive it for up to 10 seconds. If the old Taskmgr doesn’t start making sense by responding with a secret code within that time, another one will be launched. That way, you’re never without a Taskmgr as long as there are some resources available.
