If you’d like your worklets (and other agent commands) to execute from a different location, here’s how you do that: https://support.automox.com/help/automox-agent-requirements The most common reason you’d use this is if your endpoint security is blocking the default execution location for the agent.

Automox is planning a maintenance window targeted for Friday, September 27th, at approximately 3:00 PM MT / 9:00 PM UTC. We will be using this window to update our production infrastructure to the latest and greatest and expect the efforts to last about 6 hours. During this time, users can expect degraded performance and short periods of planned downtime. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to email support@automox.com.
I was curious what other agents/management tools you are using with Automox. We are using Symantec SEP (not by choice, forced from above) and Goverlan for remote support but was curious what the rest of yall are using.
Bug Fixes: Pending Patch Counts corrected for some instances where multiple policies connected to a device showed incorrect value Added agent recovery capability when auto-upgrade of the fails on Windows devices https://support.automox.com/help/archive-2017-2018-2019
Hello, What’s your approach to deleting inactive/long gone endpoints? Want to ensure reporting is accurate and licensing is in good standing.
I’m sure most of you are mainly Windows, but lots of places have the odd Mac for their creative or C-level types. Which of you are patching Linux or Mac in addition to Windows?
Hi. I was wondering if anyone is using automox with Intune to deploy patches or using the WSUS integration?
Enhancements: Updated checkout process to better support card security, international billing, and Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). https://support.automox.com/help/archive-2017-2018-2019
This article from Tom made a big impact on my thinking around automation of tasks: https://queue.acm.org/detail.cfm?id=3197520&fbclid=IwAR0gQLbZTLqW50MRaJKfE5vo6ipxln5dfndHVsm5Cl-Q6cKcqfi5WZOBhFk He makes the point that writing code is only one step in the process. First comes documenting all of your manual tasks, and making improvements in your documented process. Once that’s in place, you can start writing code to complete the task. Where are you in your automation journey? Is every task you do at least documented and do you follow the documentation for consistency and to avoid errors?
I’ve worked at Webroot and am a big fan of their AV. What do you guys use for your endpoint security and/or antivirus?
How difficult would it be to create a worklet to force a password reset on Windows 10 Pro PCs?
In my case I heard about it from my good friend @Richard, who I met through the Spiceworks community and then worked with at Webroot. He told me about this great startup in Boulder, then later told me he’d joined them. How’d you hear about us?
Bug Fixes Resolved an issue where the manual execution of a policy with a large number of devices times out in the HTTP request. Resolved the issue where the Group editor was not saving the disable OS patch setting value. Resolved an issue where executing a policy manually would error if there was one or more disconnected devices. https://support.automox.com/help/archive-2017-2018-2019 Note: we’re changing our release numbering system to a date-based one, to make releases easier to keep track of.
We’re getting ready to take the community out of beta and preparing a press release to let the world know about the Automox community. As part of the press release we’d like a quote from an Automox customer talking about how the community is useful, especially when it comes to the Worklets section. If you’d like to cash in your 15 minutes of fame and be quoted in the press release, please send me a PM or email me at nic.tolstoshev@automox.com!
ZDNet COBOL turns 60: Why it will outlive us all | ZDNet In the beginning, there was machine languages and assembler. Neither was easy to use, but then along came COBOL, and everything changed. An interesting article on ZDNet about the history of COBOL and why it may very well outlive us all. Micro Focus, the company maintaining COBOL, has a campaign to move COBOL apps to the cloud!
I’m hoping someone has already dealt with this. Trying to push an install with Automox to several laptops at once. My issue is with the install location. Some programs are made to use AppData as an install path. It avoids admin privs and I believe makes it easier for users to customize their environment variables around the program. Well, when Automox pushes stuff, it doesn’t seem to care so much who is logged in, so people with limited privs wouldn’t see it post-install. Can someone clarify or even better, if you’ve come across this, post your story?

For me it was getting out of college and not knowing what to do next, so I fell into sysadmin work since I had a tech background. I did that for about a decade before I switched over to community management. How did you all get your start in IT?
