Hello, I was running into a scenario in our Automox environment which I was looking for some additional insight. We have a set of machines configured to run a patch only policy of a few vendor approved patches. Overnight, the policy ran successfully however in the devices page, it appears that they still have an update pending and upon going to the device in question the KB that was installed by the policy shows as update available.

Hi everyone,Before I opened a ticket I wanted to post here. With the release of the new agent, most of our assets are up to date but we have about 150 that are still on the 2.0.29/28 version. Most of them have been online and connected to the console, but I am wondering why they haven’t auto-updated. Besides any thoughts about why, does anyone have a potential fix to update them? I figured I’d give it a few weeks since the release of the new agent before asking. Thanks!
Hey guys, Been a hot minute since I’ve hit up this community. Hope everyone is well! :) I understand there is a playbook for installation of the agent however I was wondering if over the years, someone has developed the reverse? Just looking to make our VM decommission process a little streamlined. Anyone know if there are any playbooks about that can cover removal of the device in the console and agent removal?Typically we just nuke the VM so uninstall isn’t really a major requirement but would be good if we could remove the device from the console. My Google-fu hasn’t had much success in landing any positive hits so figured I would try here. Thanks in advance! Westyy
I’m getting a notification from Automox that my PC needs to be rebooted, but the right hand and bottom edges of the notification window aren’t being rendered, so I cannot see or click on the “Restart Now” button. Restarting from either the Windows start menu or by using CTRL-ALT-DELETE apparently does not suffice to enable Automox to actually do the necessary updates, because after such a restart the notification just comes back. The only option I have is the wait for the deadline to arrive and allow Automox to force the restart. This generally is just a minor annoyance, but if the deadline arrives while, say, I’m in the midst of a Teams meeting, it becomes a major annoyance. I’ve attempted to change my resolution and scaling, but it doesn’t change how the window looks. I’m attaching a screen capture. Any ideas what could be going wrong here?
Reached out to support and they said they didnt have a way to bulk remove duplicate devices . They have this link but its a little lacking. https://developer.automox.com/openapi/axconsole/operation/deleteDevice/ With Chat GPT and a little trouble shooting, i came up with this powershell script that worked for me. you will need to do an export of all devices, find the duplicates and get a list of device id’s and put them in column A with deviceid as the header, save as *.csv. Enjoy! #Add api key and orgid!$apiKey = 'xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx'$orgId = xxxxxx$headers = @{ "Authorization" = "Bearer $apiKey" "Content-Type" = "application/json" }#Edit csv path and log path!# Paths$csvPath = "C:\Path\*.csv"$logPath = "C:\Path\*.txt"# Clear previous logif (Test-Path $logPath) { Remove-Item $logPath}New-Item -Path $logPath -ItemType File -Force | Out-Null# Read device IDs$deviceIds = Import-Csv -Path $csvPathforeach ($row in $deviceIds) { $deviceId = $row.Dev
HiOur deployment has update deferral policies in place and up until recently they have been working as expected.Recently, we have been getting the following message that seems to be by-passing the deferral policies. Can anyone comment on this? Is this part of an update? And can this notification be disabled/altered.Thanks
The new end user tray experience is quite disappointing. Removing the functionality that informs users about updates or necessary closures is a significant drawback. One of the strengths of Automox was its ability to keep end users informed about updates and patches. Could you please explain the decision to launch the new Tray without the capability for custom text, which was available in the previous agent?
Hey Ottobots! We are pleased to say that the new tray icon and notifications have started appearing for our users on Automox, however we note that this doesn’t appear to have the text defined in our policy. Does anybody know if: We can adjust the logo and the “Automox” text to be company-branded? We are able to adjust the text in the notification window? We would like to tell our staff WHAT is being updated, for example. In the policies, we are currently still seeing deferral, rather than “deadline” which was announced. Does anyone know where we configure the deadline please? Thanks in advance!
Good Morning, We’ve been dealing with an odd issue for the last few months on 2 of our servers when it comes to updating. We run a “patch except” policy for our servers that can be rebooted once a month to update them and without fail both of these servers will succeed in installing the update 5 times, then fail once and not actually install the updates or reflect the updates on Automox.Below is what I see when I filter the AX Activity Log for the day after running the policy. Failed to apply patches ("2024-11 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB5046612)" "Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - v5.130 (KB890830)" "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 32-bit" "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 64-bit" "Broadcom Inc. - System - 9.8.18.1"): Installed patches: "2024-11 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB5046612)" "Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - v5.130 (KB890830)" "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistrib
I’m new to AutoMox and would like to know how to create a worklet that I can assign to a group of machines and schedule them to reboot on a monthly basis. Is this possible and how would I go about creating this worklet.
We signed up for the new system tray agent beta. I was curious if anyone knows if the location of the popup can be configured? Currently it is not popping up over the system tray. It’s popping up in the center of the screen.
The challenge with third-party patching lies in the diversity of solutions each vendor employs to distribute updates. Without a centralized solution, your teams are left juggling various update processes, creating inefficiencies and leaving endpoints vulnerable.Automox’s Third-Party Patching ProcessWe offer a cloud-native solution that simplifies third-party patching by consolidating various update methods into a single, cohesive process. Here’s how the process works from start to finish:Step 1: Inventory and IdentificationDevices are scanned to identify updates needed for first and third-party applications. The default scan interval is 24 hours, but this can be customized to meet specific needs.Step 2: Centralized Policy ManagementIT teams can implement flexible policies to automate patch deployment, allowing for consistent updates across devices without manual input.Step 3: Caching and DistributionFor macOS and Windows software, Automox caches third-party updates in its software cata
Hello Automox Community1Has anyone been able to deploy the agent using Azure Policy? I understand going the gold image route is the typical way. But I’d like to have other options of automating the Agent deployment if it’s missing on an Azure server VM.

Hello,I was unable to find any information on Lansweeper's deployment page or on Automox on deploying the Automox agent using the Lansweeper deployment tool. This deployment package will install, and can also assign the device to the group you want. Below is how I have mine set up. Action - InstallerStep Name - Install (or whatever you want to name it.)Install File - {PackageShare}\installers\Automox_Installer-2.0.28.msi (Or when you placed the installer.)Parameters - ACCESSKEY=YOURACCESSKEY GROUP="Default Group/Group you want to assign it to"MSI Options - Install, No Restart, QuietThis will populate the result command, so below is a preview of my Result command.msiexec.exe /i "{PackageShare}\installers\Automox_Installer-2.0.28.msi" /norestart /qn ACCESSKEY=********-****-****-****-************ GROUP="Default Group/City Computers" The part for GROUP, will be the Parent group that you have set up, and then the name of the second group. Mine is still Default Group, and then the other grou

Hello, I am trying to follow the Automox/PowerBi guide here: https://help.automox.com/hc/en-us/articles/8180172309780-Custom-API-Dashboard-through-PowerBI#h_01HAT7WZ8E95S0YA6E8FCYVY5B but running into an issue on step #6 (Double click to open Automox_Reports_Example_v1_wAPI.pbit from C:\temp\.). When I do this, PowerBI states “query is blocked by the following errors: health, The column 'name' of the table wasn't found.” Due to this, all the PowerBI report pages are blank as the rest of the queries don’t load. When opening up health.csv, I see that it is empty. Any thoughts?
Is there a way in the console currently to restrict access to the console based on IP addresses?I know we can likely do this with SAML and utilizing restrictions with our idP of choice, but it would be ideal to lock down the console to a set of IPs that we own or operate from. This way, even if SAML breaks down, we can be sure our accounts are protected somewhat via IP addresses that we can access from. If it’s a request from support, that can work as well. But it’d be nice to have the option in console (even it means we can stub our own toes).
