Having some errors pop up on a handful of pc’s when using the Patch Now Action on the Software page. Have a handful needing 23H2, and while some took the update with 0 issues some are throwing the following

No override file found. Patch default values will be used
Failed to set patch values from Metadata. Default values will be used.
InstallMSUpdates : Install failed with ResultCode 4 and HResult -2145124318
At C:\Program Files (x86)\Automox\execDir149571395\execcmd013954502.ps1:1788 char:21
+ InstallMSUpdates $lst
+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) :Write-Error], WriteErrorException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.WriteErrorException,InstallMSUpdates

Any ideas on way some will update while others have this error?

Was there any updates to the ticket you created? We’ve been seeing the same this for a couple of weeks.

Yes! My issue at least was linked to the 22H2 update that required a 250MB recovery partition.  Linked the issue below. I have since ignored the patch and we are not seeing that error.

Thanks for the quick response! I guess I’ll go submit a ticket with them so they can investigate. We’re getting this error on many different patches.

We did run into the KB5034441 patch issues as well a while back but we managed to get those fixed using worklets.

I have opened another, seeing the same error when trying different packages, Google Chrome for one. If I get an update I will let you know!

Hi @jfrancisco

Do you mind putting the worklet here? Tried creating a worklet using Microsoft provided script but I keep getting “unexpected user input” error

Thanks
