How is it already mid-October? Well, we’re glad it’s the season of boo and eek! That means it’s time to talk about the scariest, most horrific thing that can happen at work – a MISTAKE (otherwise known as an ITOops). See what we did there? The thing is, ITOopses don’t have to be that scary. To take the fear out of making mistakes, it’s time to shine our flashlights on them. We don’t want you to feel like a monster when you make a mistake (or an ITOops) – especially because you’re not alone. Everyone makes an oops from time to time. ITOops /aɪ ti ʊps/ noun, informal 1. used to represent a mistake or minor accident made by someone working in IT Operations Examples of ITOops in a Sentence: “Oh shucks! I just made an ITOops!”We’ve all made an ITOops or two… or more. While they can suck, there’s always a lesson you can learn from a mistake. Let’s destigmatize (or demonster) our ITOopses. Share your ITOops stories with the Community so we can
Friday the 13th…the movie came out in 1980 and I still cannot watch the entire thing as an adult. But you know what is scarier? Bad actors trying to exploit endpoints. I’m curious if anyone else has run into this and has a solution. The device details page remains blank on 1% of agents ~765 total workstations.Running locally: Get-WmiObject Win32_ComputerSystem shows error “get-wmiobject : Invalid class "Win32_ComputerSystem" winmgmt /verifyrepository shows WMI repository is consistent
It would be advantageous to have the capability to generate a customized field for each device and associate a worklet to retrieve specific data for that device. For instance, this could be utilized for retrieving warranty information, checking the existence of a registry key, or gathering custom file details.

Today is National Badger Day (who knew!). In honor of that day, I’ve updated my Avatar to a picture of a badger our neighbor rescued earlier this year thinking it was a ferret. Thankfully, the neighbor quickly realized what its true identity was and he/she was taken to a wildlife rescue. Is there a way to get a count of total devices through the API without getting all devices through the servers endpoint?
Hi, I am trying to install automox agent automatically using Puppet. Issue is I have no way to check if agent is registered properly on automox, so every time puppet agent is starting deregistration and registration again. I tried to use agent to show me a group that node belongs, but there is no way to do it. I looked at API doc but I do not see a way to pull to which group node belongs. Is there any way to check from node itself if agent is already registered or not?

I’m not sure if this is Automox related but our company keeps having a black screen issue. It looks like the update is downloaded and the server is looking a reboot but if we don’t reboot the server I’ll will just sit on a black screen and we can’t login to it- this is causing issues because some applications won’t run. In this situation we need to use nutanix to reset the servers and it does install the updates then.Have you heard about this issue before? What is the fix for it if a policy which is supposed to reboot servers over weekend doesn’t work?
When we first implemented Automox we created the suggested “Keep browsers up-to-date” policy available on the console’s front page. I recently saw this installed KB5030216 overnight on a few VMs with the policy applied. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is this because “Everything Microsoft Edge” is included in the policy?
Using the standard API call for software packages installed will just give you software installed on a single device referenced by the server ID#. This script will give you software packages installed on every device in an organization referenced by the computer names. By altering the script you can add additional fields - but make sure the Set-Content line reflects all of the fields you add to the Select-Object part of the last line of the script. You’ll also want the Set-Content line to have the fields in the same order as the Select-Object. Available fields can be found here from the Response tab:https://developer.automox.com/openapi/axconsole/operation/getDevicePackages/ View the script on GitHub You can also modify it to do things like not show Windows updates & hotfixes by altering the Where-Object part of the last line of the script. For example:Where-Object {$.installed -EQ $true -and $.repo -notlike “Windows*”} You’ll need to set the following before running the script:

I started my computer up this morning and was prompted with an Automox popup saying that my computer was going to restart in 5 min. I was not given an option to defer. Normally we give two deferal options and allow the person to defer three times max. So Im wondering is, even though my computer was turned off, Automox took the automatic deferal options and now that my computer is on, is forcing me to reboot? Hopefully that makes sense. If that is the correct, how do you handle that? We dont want people turning on their computers, and getting prompted to have to reboot 5 min into their work day. Thank you, Greg
