Using Automox

Fortunately it’s been fairly smooth for us, thanks to the great work of our sysadmin @Mark-AX. He made sure that we had everything we needed with our VPN setups, and Zoom licenses. Thankfully we were all already on laptops, so we didn’t have to order a bunch of new hardware. How’s the process going for everyone? What’s the biggest struggle? VPN licensing? Finding laptop hardware? Training your users?

Hi All, Good Day. Background: These questions are coming from a server point of view. We are attempting to build some automation that determines when a given policy has been completed for a given device group. Then from there we could work to re-apply patches within a patching window. Is anyone doing this today? Thanks in advance. Chuck

We’ll soon be releasing some improvements for the new search filters on the Devices page. We’re adding in searching for Tags as well as more detailed options for filtering by Operating System. Look for those changes to come out this week.

Do you have blackout windows for patching, where you are not allowed to roll out any patches, no matter how critical? Correspondingly, do you have designated patch windows when you’re allowed to push out patches and reboot machines? We’re asking because we’re looking at improving the scheduling options in the console. We’re also considering the value of a global console blackout feature, where you can forbid any patch policies from accidentally being scheduled during set timeframes locally or in a standard time. The main search capability we used on the device page was taken away? There is a ton of filterable options but searching by tag was super easy! And now its gone…unless I’m missing something?
