Hey all,

Just wanted to check to see if Automox has the ability to patch drivers on Windows devices?

I.e. how WSUS has this ability?

Would like to retire WSUS completely for end user devices, and would be beneficial to tap into the MS Windows driver update channel.

Hi OP and commenters, we have seen some success with the following worklet:

which utilizes the vendor tool to do things like drive updates. I am aware of an identical utility from lenovo and HP which could be triggered, but I haven’t tested it but it would be beneficial to have with in the community.

I do believe if you enable optional updates in a patch policy it is possible to install driver updates that are pushed through windows updates.

Any update on Automox adding the Feature to update Drivers on Windows Devices through the Patch Policies? Since the number of updates seen on a device when you enable optional updates is not more than 5 or less. But the device is actually missing more than 5 Driver updates. Using the vendors apps to do this is becoming a bit of hassle as those apps are becoming bloatware on endpoints and have more vulnerability of being exploited. We wanted to use Windows Update Agent’s Driver Update Catalog, as this is a common application, we can rely on, regardless of the different make and manufacturer for the device. So, it’ll be greatly appreciated if Automox Dev can look into integrating Driver Updates using the Patch Policies. Being MSPs, we have different kind of customers, who use different brands of hardware. We cannot force them to use one brand. We try to where-ever we can, but it's not always the provider’s call. We have to be flexible to accommodate all kind of windows devices.
