Did anyone else receive a "A thought on your remote support stack?" email from Automox?

Did anyone else receive this message from someone at Automox?

This feels as though Automox has allowed a sales/marketing person to sieve through my companies software list held on Automox for sales opportunities. This makes me very uneasy and even less inclined to use their remote access offering. Further more it will make me think twice about renewing the patching service when it comes up for renewal.

 

I’ve had a browse of Terms of Use - https://www.automox.com/ and Privacy Policy - https://www.automox.com/. The only relevant thing I could find was on the Privacy Policy page under second 2.. but that was regarding Personal Data… I’ve been unable to find any information about how they say they will use company / patching / software data.

To be honest, I’m feeling violated.

I emailed the original sender in parallel to posting this topic, asking how they came to believe we were using TeamViewer in our Remote Support stack and asking for clarification on the policies about how the data held in our tenancy maybe used.

They response in less and than hour with what I can only describe as a perfect response. They answered all my questions and satisfied me they had not been processing the software list in my companies tenancy for marketing opportunities.

Anyone can make an error, it’s how you respond to it that can make a big difference, and I think they did well on this occasion and so it should be prasied.
