Even though it’s been more than two years since the WannaCry disaster, detection of the malware has reached an all-time high. It’s crazy that the vulnerability remains unpatched on so many systems given how public the event was.

It’s crazy how many breaches are either from unpatched systems with known vulnerabilities, or systems lacking any sort of security whatsoever. The cutting edge zero-days get all the glory, but the bigger danger is not protecting against known issues. Kind of like how big disasters get lots of media coverage, but everyday risks like driving and heart disease don’t get much media play.
