Hello, my name is Chris.  I’ve completed all 3 exams:  Automox Level I Essentials, Automox Level II Practitioner, and Automox Level II Pro.  Now I’m working on getting as many points as I can in the new Otto HQ.

Hey Yan, welcome to the AX community! How's Automox been treating you so far? Always curious to source feedback from practitioners. This community is receptive to sharing code, worklet ideas, and policy setup - among other things. Plenty of us here have been in the trenches, worked as systems administrator and engineers, too; happy to talk shop.

Hi ASkrodzki,

Thanks for your reply, yes I’m very a new AX’s user, I was facing some issue with some on prem tools and finaly someone told me good things about Automox, acting also in the Cloud. So I’m here to discover and keep use it as most of my friends.

I don’t know if here there is a way you’ve been puting in place to start with new AX’s Users: a book, a link or whatever can help start understanding and onboarding servers and patch them in a good way.

Yan -
Great to have you here, and it sounds like you are already off to a great start. We absolutely have resources to help get you up and running with confidence. Here is a solid starting point:

Getting Started:

Agent Deployment:

Patching:

Worklets & Required Software:

Live Training:

  • Monthly Webinars — a fantastic way to learn directly from the Automox team and ask questions in real time

One last tip — once you are in the Policies pane, check out the Policy Catalog in the top left. It surfaces pre-built policy templates aligned to our best practices, which is a fantastic shortcut to getting your first policies configured the right way.

This should give you a strong foundation. Do not hesitate to post questions here as you go. Looking forward to seeing you thrive!

And, call me Angelo!

You’re welcome!

As for prerequisites, here is the networking information involving which endpoints we’ll need visibility to Platform Firewall Allowlisting Rules.

Be sure to also review the endpoint protection guide to ensure you’re connections will not get blocked
Globally Trust-listing Automox Through EPP Application Control.

Most client connections are outbound TCP port 443 & 80, though there are specific components like Splashtop and analytics to also account for - like performance ports. Take a look and reach out with any specifics questions.
