Automox announcements and upcoming events - from AX to you!
Hello, Automox Community!Vania here 👋 , Product Manager at Automox.I’m excited to announce that our new user role, Patch Operator, is now available! We’ve been hearing from users that they’d like a user role that does not have the ability to create or modify Worklets. For this reason, we’ve created a new role that still has full permissions for patch policies, but does not have “create” or “modify” permissions for Worklet and Required Software Policies. The Patch Operator role, however, can still run Worklet or Required Software Policies. With the addition of this role, we also changed the name of the “Patch Administrator” role to “Zone Operator” in order to better align with this role’s permissions. Here are some screenshots of the new role:Assign a user to multiple zones as a Patch OperatorAdd a user to a zone as a Patch OperatorFor additional information, check out our user documentation.Let us know what you think of the new role in the comments below!Vania

Hi, everybody - Chad here. We’re all extremely stoked to announce the release of Vulnerability Sync! This feature will help to dramatically reduce the time required to remediate vulnerabilities from days/hours (across multiple teams) to minutes, with a single click from one operator. Vulnerability Sync provides actionable insights based on data from Technical Partners including CrowdStrike, Rapid7, and Tenable that help IT teams quickly identify, analyze, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities. In short, you’ll download a vulnerability report from a 3rd-party scanner, then upload that into the AX console. You’ll need to make sure the report lists hostnames and CVE IDs, as these are crucial to the sync. Then, simply upload the CSV file: Once that’s done and processed, you’ll be able to create and execute a number of tasks: Vulnerability Sync is currently available to all new and existing AX customers! You can read more about it here., and our Support Team has some great documenta

Happy hump day ya’ll. We’re very excited to announce that we’ve just pushed reboot notifications and deferral options for Worklets live! Previously, Worklets were only able to be scheduled, however, reboot notifications and deferrals were not available. This is a powerful feature as it offers users the ability to run custom evaluation and remediation scripts, and assuming this is enabled, devices that successfully receive remediation script will reboot respecting the notifications and deferrals configured in the Worklet policy. Some interesting use cases that you might consider: Reboot only recurring policy for all targeted devices with notifications and deferrals Reboot prior to policy run or during scheduled maintenance windows And many more! We’ll have Product Docs up shortly, but you can access this feature by going to Create Policy > Worklets > Enable Automatic Reboot After Updates Are Installed.
